What is a Smart City?

Cities. Odds are, you’re probably in one right now as you read this. This is not a shot at the rural way-of-life, it is a matter of statistics. In 2010 the World Health Organization published a projection that urban population will almost double from 3.4 billion in 2009 to 6.4 billion in 2050. These numbers are signs that we are at a time of critical growth and development for modern cities. It will be important for a city to utilize technology and planning to re-think problems, both new and old, to become more effective in handling operations.

We believe that a smart city is a sustainable city. It will be one that introduces modern, innovative solutions to efficiently manage its services and optimize the quality of life of its present and future population.

How We Can Help

We recognize the smart city as a tremendous opportunity for the advancement of sustainability in urban environments. We also recognize how overwhelming and time-consuming it can be for cities to begin to investigate such a concept. Therefore we have structured a program that will aid cities in identifying and deploying real projects that fit their needs without incurring high costs.

In part, we have designed numerous toolkits and packages that will guide interested cities towards smarter development. Our process is simplified into the following four steps:

  1. Research and survey city practices and initiatives.
  2. Analyze information by city sector.
  3. Suggest key smart city projects for implementation.
  4. Assist the city in project development.
